According to the Asbury Park Press, an establishment, identified as the Point Pleasant Manor, that had already accepted a $1,400 check from St. Gregory's Food Pantry for seven rooms, decided against it at the last minute Thursday and returned the money.

Manor staff allegedly told pantry officials that the deal expired Tuesday but pantry officials deny those claims.

Dozens of people, including Sandy victims, were displaced in the March 21st blaze that gutted the Mariner's Cove Motor Inn leaving four men dead and injuring eight others. Investigators determine that it was sparked by an improperly discarded cigarette in the second floor smoking section.
