There will be moans and groans heard around the shore today.  People will show up in their office complaining about how they had to clean off their cars and scrape ice off the windshield.

Snow 2010

They will whine about how cold it is and how awful winter is.  Let’s face it: we have gotten soft over the years.  This is what winter is supposed to be and was for many, many years.

Sure it’s going to be cold and we probably won’t get above freezing until next Monday.  Yes there’s some snow out there and we could be looking at a real storm on Friday.  However we have skated by up to this point and it’s felt more fall-like than winter so we really have nothing to complain about.  But we will…time and time and time again.

You may not like President Obama and his politics but you have to admit the First Family makes for a nice picture.  Michelle and the girls know style and there has not been this much attention on fashion since the Kennedy’s occupied the White House.

By the way I heard that the outfit Mrs. Obama wore during yesterday’s inauguration could be worth up to $14 million for the fashion designer, who did not know his clothes had been chosen until he saw her on TV.

That’s what you call “making an impact” on someone’s career.

Jackson Memorial High School girls basketball coach Rachel Goodale has picked up quite an honor from the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association.  Goodale was recently notified that she’s been selected as the New Jersey State Coach of the Year for 2012, a year in which she guided the Jaguars to their first-ever Group 4 state championship and a berth in the Tournament of Champions.

In her 13th season Goodale has built Jackson into one of the premier programs in the shore as they have won 4 consecutive Class A South titles and are well on their way to #5.  The Jags take a 43-game division winning streak into tonight’s game at Toms River South.  Congrats to Rachel on a well-deserved honor.
