Roll up your sleeves for Seaside Park beach protection with Shifting Sands
A tractor-trailer full of donated Christmas trees wends its way south from Secaucus to Seaside Park. Now, all that's needed are enough able hands to plant them in the sands of Midway Beach.
Starting February 6, the Shifting Sands nonprofit organization and Friends of Midway Beach welcome individuals and groups who want to help unload and place the trees and install dune fencing.
Work continues weekends through February21, weather permitting. Bring durable work gloves to protect hands from pine tar.
Volunteers gather at the 14th Avenue Beach, February 6 at 9 AM and February 7 at 10 AM. On February 14, 20 and 21, the start point is the 6th Lane Beach, each morning at 10.
Confirm your, or your group's, participation with Dominick Solazzo at the Shifting Sands Facebook page, or e-mail ShiftingSands35@gmail.com.
