A standoff with the suspect in an early morning shooting at the Sand Bar Restautant in Brielle in Point Pleasant is over.

Louis Cataldo, 62, was brought into custody around 1:30 p.m. after holding police at bay at his Bay Point Harbour Road for several hours. He was charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses and is being held at the Monmouth County Jail on $1.5 million bail.

Cataldo is the owner of the Sand Bar. Sources tells Townsquare Media he bought the restaurant last October.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says an unidentified 35-year old woman was shot in the parking lot of the restaurant on Union Lane at 12:56 a.m. early Tuesday morning.

The unidentified victim was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center where she remains in critical but stable condition. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office would not characterize the nature of their relationship.

Residents were evacuated by a SWAT team early this morning and were going home-to-home searching for a suspect according to tweets from News 12 New Jersey. They have been allowed to return to their homes.
