Silence and Smile

So I saw this great quote on Facebook: "Silence and smile are two powerful tools. Smile is the way to solve many problems. Silence is the way to avoid many problems."

This particularly saying spoke to me when I was driving yesterday.

A truck was backing into a driveway that happened to be on a very busy road. I saw it ahead of me and I slowed down to stop, because he was pulling out into the road to pull back into the driveway.

As I was stopped, I saw behind me a car. The driver blew his horn at me because he wanted me to move.

I thought to myself: "Give him a smile and keep silent," otherwise my Italian temper would have flared. I thought to myself, "yup a smile is the way to solve many problems, and silence is the way to avoid them."

So I kept my mouth shut!  I have a tattoo on my arm that also addresses this issue: "He who angers you conquers you."
