There are days in which I find myself in search of a topic or topics to fill this valuable 150 second segment and today just happens to be one of them.

Maybe it’s the dismal weather (although we need the rain), maybe it’s the hangover from my beloved Rangers having their season end a bit too soon or maybe it’s simply I’ve run out of things to say.  Actually that’s clearly not the case as my family and co-workers will tell you I always have something to say and usually very loudly.

Did I ever mention that in my senior year at Central Regional High School I was voted “Class Bigmouth?”

Honestly there are always things to address and I could take the remaining 115 seconds and offer my thoughts on the subject of this month’s Vanity Fair cover. I mean, everyone is talking about Caitlyn Jenner.  Everyone but me as I’ll leave that to others but I will tell you that at one time he was one great athlete and now she  does look very much like an old Jessica Lange.

So what words of wisdom can I share with you this morning?  Actually that’s a bit egotistical because what qualifies me to think I’m wise and my words mean anything.  If I was so smart would I be still getting up at 2:40 in the morning a month before my 36th anniversary at WOBM?  I mean it seems like most of my contemporaries are retired and here I am still grinding away, often on 4 hours sleep.

Again I still don’t have a subject for today and I’m starting to feel like the Hometown View is the Seinfeld of radio: a segment about nothing. Plus I’m down to only 60 seconds or so which doesn’t leave much time to delve into anything of substance.

So as to not totally waste your time let me simply say today’s piece is not one that I will enter into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and I will try and do better tomorrow although I can’t make any promises.  It just may be that my time, like that of Bruce Jenner’s is over.  Stay tuned. You just never know what tomorrow will bring.

By the way I’m leaving about 30 seconds earlier and will carry over that time to a morning when I actually have something to say.
