The 25-year-old man was seen in distress around 7:30 Wednesday night, at Beach B.

Park spokeswoman Daphne Yun told the Asbury Park Press this is the third time a swimmer has needed rescue this week there. Two others rescued were taken to a hospital.

Strong rip currents this week forced a number of Jersey Shore beaches to put up Red Flags.

Several agencies searched for the man Wednesday night until the effort was suspended until this morning. The National Park Service, the United States Coast Guard, NYPD Aviation, Monmouth County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police, as well as rescue personnel from Middletown, Highlands, Atlantic Highlands and Sea Bright helped with the search.
