The Wall Township area could be your lucky place to buy a ticket for Wednesday's Powerball drawing which grew on Tuesday to an astounding $1.5 billion annuity jackpot.

While New Jersey did not have a million dollar winner in the last drawing, the New Jersey Lottery said 29 winning tickets worth $50,000 each were sold here, three of them around Wall at Wall Exxon in Allenwood, Quick Chek on Belmar Boulevard and Farmingdale Liquors. Bergen, Essex and Morris counties are each home to 4 winning tickets.  The other tickets were sold at stores in Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union counties. 791,942 other tickets sold in New Jersey won an estimated $3,872,897 in prizes ranging from $4 to $300, according to the lottery.

"New Jersey has been home to past Powerball winners so we are hopeful that we can bring it home to the Garden State once again. Wherever the top prize lands, this roll is providing vital funding to our Lottery beneficiaries," said Carole Hediner, executive director of the New Jersey Lottery.

New Jersey's last Powerball jackpot winners was in 2013 when two winning tickets were sold: one to a group of county workers from Ocean County and the second to a man from Monmouth Junction.

According to the lottery, their stores are well stocked with betting slips and tickets. Field staff will deliver supplies to retailers who run out.

Whoever wins will have to pay 39.6 percent of the prize in federal income taxes, and any state taxes. Lottery officials expect at least 80 percent of the 292.2 million number combinations will be purchased before Wednesday's drawing. That increases the chances — but doesn't guarantee — that someone will win the jackpot.

Wednesday's drawing, with an annuity value of $930 million, will be drawn at 11 p.m.
