The air blew out of a tire in the middle of the night in Brick Township. Police say they solved the problem with someone else's tire...and created a new one for themselves.

Jashier Powell and Quadirah Booker of Lakewood were charged with burglary and theft in connection with the escapade at about 3:15 AM Tuesday.

A report of a possible vehicle burglary sent offers to Regent Court in the Lions Head North enclave. A short while later, officers were redirected to the WaWa on Brick Boulevard, where three individuals were changing a tire on a 2001 Hyundai Sonata in the parking lot, police said.

Two of them, later identified as Powell and Booker, allegedly entered the development, spotted a similar car, popped the trunk and took the tire, police said.

Powell also has to answer for $100 arrest warrant issued in Howell Township, and Booker is the subject of a $500 warrant in Brick, police said.

Their companion, Toraya Evans of Lakewood, was booked in connection with a $500 arrest warrant from Wall Township, police said.
