According to information from Barnegat PD, Geoffrey Colucci, 48, of Manahawkin, was charged late in the afternoon on June 5 in the aftermath of a three-car crash that was triggered when his car rammed the back end of a stationary vehicle on West Bay Avenue at Barnegat Boulevard. His car was impounded and he was charged with DWI and reckless driving.

Almost exactly a day later, at about 6:20 PM on June 5, the same officer who ticketed pulled Edward Petro, 49, of Barnegat to the side of Georgetown Road after watching him veer out of his lane of travel. Petro's car was also impounded and he was charged with DWI, reckless driving, improper display of plates and having an open container of alcohol in the car.

Then on June 6, a K-9 probe of a reported suspicious vehicle led to DWI and reckeless-driving charges against William Ludwig IV of Barnegat. Investigators determined that he had been under the influence of alcohol behind the wheel. His car was also impounded.
