This morning Marianne asked "What's a Tebow?"  That question in and of itself shows just how far Denver Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow's reach has spread.

A player.  A winner.  A devout Christian.

I'm not normally one who is a fan of overly-preachy individuals - be that of any religious group or any other organizations - and Tebow has crossed that line in the past (see 2010 Focus on the Family Super Bowl commercial HERE).

However, in this case this single athlete has done overwhelmingly more good than bad - both on and off the field.  His own Tim Tebow Foundation has a global outreach that includes Timmy's Playroom - which builds playrooms in children's hospitals, a partnership with CURE International - which brings help to children with treatable physical disabilities around the world and Uncle Dicks Orphanage - which assists in helping homeless children in the Philippines.

This list of philanthropic work is just the tip of the iceberg in Tebow's charitable resume.  These accomplishments would be enough for most people to be content with - but not for this guy.  He continues to expand his foundation to reach the most amount of people in need, continues to meet with sick children who need an emotional boost and oh, by the way, continues to push his team into winning an unlikely divisional championship and into an even more unlikely playoff run.

Tebow has transformed the 1-4 Broncos into an AFC West champion and as a viable Super Bowl contender.  He has led more unbelievable game-winning drives this season than any rookie quarterbacks (and many veterans) ever have.  But what makes this guy special is that these superlatives are not the most exciting things to happen to him this year - he would instead point to any number of his success stories his foundation was a part of.

I certainly understand the cynics out there because we've never quite seen this dynamic of a player or a person in the NFL.  But for the time being - there isn't much to not like about this guy.  Until we hear something on the contrary about his character, count me on board as a Tebow-maniac!
