If you own a business that took a beating in last January's blizzard in Ocean or six other South Jersey counties, and you're still finding it hard to get back off the canvas, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) still offers low-interest loans for a limited time.

The deadline to apply is November 22 for small businesses, small farm cooperatives, small aquaculture firms and most private nonprofit groups in Ocean, Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties.

SBA's working capital disaster loans can be issued in amounts up to $2,000,000, with up to 30 years to repay. Annual percentage rates are four percent for small businesses, 2.625 percent for private nonprofits.

The loans can be applied to fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills delayed as a direct result of the January 22-24 snowstorm.

Submit a request through the Electronic Loan Application at the SBA's secure website. SBA customer service staffers can answer questions at 1-800-659-2955 (TTF 1-800-877-8339), or via e-mail.
