A Toms River man is arrested for helping himself to nearly $100.00 from an employee tip-jar at the Royal Grill Restaurant on Route 37 West on November 20, then bolted from the scene in a U-Haul with no license plates.

23-year old Nicholas Mayer was caught on surveillance video allegedly committing the crime, and a warrant was issued for his arrest a couple days later.

Mayer surrendered himself to police on Tuesday at headquarters, was processed and released pending a future court date.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are accusations only. Every criminal defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
