Barnegat--Police have arrested 21-year old Mark L. Crudup Jr. of Toms River following a report of a robbery around 11:30 pm last Thursday night in Barnegat where the suspect shot a man delivering pizza to Lexington Boulevard.

Investigators say the victim whose name hasn't been released, was approached by Crudup Jr. who held him at gunpoint and demanded he turn over his money.

Following a back and forth verbal conversation between the two men where the victim refused to give Crudup any of the cash, a shot was fired and hit the victim in the abdominal area leaving him with minor lacerations and fragments that were either pellets or bb's.

The victim than took off and called police informing them of what happened.

After a warrant was issued for Crudup Jr.'s arrest Barnegat and Toms River Police went to a Barnegat Avenue residence and placed him in handcuffs.

Crudup Jr. was charged with 1st degree Robbery, 2nd degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, 3rd degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and 2nd degree aggravated assault and police also found a 6mm BB gun.

Bail was set at $150,000 with no 10% option before being placed in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
