An annual Community Day project will celebrate the Jersey Shore following the events of Super storm Sandy and the Seaside Boardwalk fire, said Media Technology Specialist Kristin Rettino.

"Shore Lucky To Live Here" is the title of the May 30th event at the school. "All the different grade levels will be studying different animals that are found here: birds, the ducks, the seagulls, blue herons," Rettino said. The day will include boardwalk games and possibly representatives from boardwalk businesses such as Kohr's Frozen Custard and Maruca's Pizza.

Rettino said the school wants to make the day all about appreciating where we live and to help students get a better understanding of how shore businesses make their likelihood.

The all-day event is for students and staff and will feature various shore-related items.
