The Toms River 19-year-old charged in connection with a Tuesday night crash on Route 9 in the township was arrested again the next morning in connection with a hit-and-run on the same stretch of highway. Now his mom faces charges as well, for allegedly letting him get behind the wheel while impaired.

Nicholas Corsair was met by township police at his home around 8 AM Wednesday, about a half-hour after a Forked River man in a Honda Civic reported being hit from behind on Route 9 at Whitty Road, police said.

The driver told police that the driver, in a Chevrolet pickup, took off instead of stopping. Traffic Officer Robert Westfall determined that Corsair was the driver, police said.

Corsair was charged the previous night with DWI for the crash that took out a utility pole on Route 9 at Sunset Avenue. Police said that traffic was still at a crawl in the area as pole replacement continued at the time of the hit-and-run.

He had been released at about 3 AM in the aftermath of the first incident, about five hours before being charged again, authorities said.

Jacquelin Latronico, 51, was charged with allowing a person to operate a vehicle while impaired. Both were released to await court hearings, police said.
