Jerome Gilby, 30, of Lakehurst, was taken into custody at his girlfriend's Toms River home on Monday afternoon, Stocco said.

More than a dozen people recognized Gilby and contacted authorities, after authorities released surveillance photos on the Police Department's Facebook page and to the media within hours of Friday's bank robbery, according to Stocco.

Investigators from the FBI, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit, Lakehurst Police, Brick Police, and the Seaside Heights Police Department worked closely to track down Gilby's whereabouts. Once his location was determined, authorities said a surveillance team was set up at the Oceanic Drive residence. Toms River Detectives James Cary and Randy Petrick made the arrest.

Gilby is charged with the bank robbery and is being held on $100,000 bail with no ten percent option for release.
