It's been an exciting week of 'firsts' on News Talk Radio WOBM-AM 1160 & 1310 and on 'Wake Up with Jeremy Grunin'.  Among other things, Jeremy has enjoyed his first caller, his first morning beverage change and first distraction by 92.7 WOBM-FM's Shawn & Sue.  Today marked another 'first' - his first official interview guests.

Boy Scout Matt Matula from Troop 49 in Eatontown took 2nd place and a $100 prize for his essay on the topic of 'Why law enforcement is important to me' conducted by the Garden State C.O.P.S.

Matt and the other winners from local Boy & Girl Scout troops will read their essays at the 2nd Annual National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, to be held on January 9th in Neptune Township High School's Performing Arts Academy.  The event will be hosted by Garden State C.O.P.S. and NJ State Police Survivors of the Triangle.

Matt was joined this morning by Tara Cunningham, Director of Strategic Planning for Concerns of Police Survivors.  Listen to Matt read his winning essay and to his and Tara's entire interview with Jeremy Grunin:
