Governor Chris Christie addressed New Jersey earlier today in response to the nor'easter that has been wreaking havoc across the state.

Among the topics discussed, the Governor specifically called out Point Pleasant Beach and Ortley Beach, whose dune projects have been stalled due to the objections of 17 people.  Both of those towns suffered damage today that could have been avoided had the dune projects been implemented.

Christie also stated that he does not plan on issuing mandatory evacuations ahead of the 7PM high tide.

Governor Christie was at the center of controversy earlier in the week after announcing his original plan of staying on the Presidential campaign trail in New Hampshire during the much anticipated nor'easter.  Christie later switched opinions and ultimately made his way back home to the Garden State to help coordinate the recovery effort.
