Water Main Break Shuts Main Street in Toms River

Main Street (Route 166)  in downtown Toms River is closed due to a water main break that will take most of the day to repair.

Toms River Police say the underground break has southbound traffic diverted onto Highland Parkway while northbound traffic is diverted onto Washington Street.

Service will be cut to both sides ot Main Street between Washington Street and Walton Street and in some areas around Lien Street and Park Street as United Water makes repairs.

Repairs are expected to take until 9 p.m. on Sunday night.
