Working on the bucket list
As I get older and the years seem to fly by I’m having more and more regrets about the things I have not done and more than ever I’m wondering if I’ll ever get to them before my time is up.
For that reason it caught my attention when I came across a list of things you MUST NOT DO or else you will definitely have regrets at the end of your life.
- Not traveling when you had the chance because it’s gets harder as you get older and have responsibilities.
- Not learning another language. I took three years of Spanish in high school and with apologies to the Carfora Sisters I forgot much more than I learned. I wish I could do more than just count to ten and order a beer.
- Missing a chance to see and hear your favorite musicians. All the concerts I could have gone to but saved for another day and that day in some cases is over.
- Being afraid to do things although it’s not too late to sky dive.
- Not trying harder in school. Just getting by is not good enough.
- Failing to make physical fitness a priority because as you get older you realize how important it is to take care of your body.
- Caring too much about what other people think. When you’re older, you’ll realize that the opinions of others does not factor into your true happiness.
- Not moving fast enough. Don’t hesitate to make decisions.
- Not standing up for yourself. Just because others may disagree with you, it does not mean you have to abandon your principals.
- Worrying too much, especially about things that haven’t happened yet.
- Missing the chance to talk to your grandparents before they die. They hold a lot of knowledge and they’ll only be around for a little longer.
- Not stopping to appreciate the moment. Everything does not require a picture.Sometimes its better just to take it all in.
- Getting caught up in needless drama.
- Refusing to let friendships run their course. Sometimes people drift apart and forcing that connection could actually do more harm than good.
- Working too much. No need to elaborate in my case.
Bottom line: it’s time to work on my Bucket List.
