Bad one in Brick: crash brings down power lines, shuts intersection
A rush-hour crash in Brick Township shutters the intersection of Brick Boulevard and Cedar Bridge Avenue, and police say it will be that way for at least four hours.
Police did not comment on the extent of any injuries or property damage, or the number of cars, drivers or passengers involved.
Authorities sent notice just after 5 PM of the collision that brought down live wires. Jersey Central Power and Light has directed repair crews to the spot.
Right now, the company reports 38 customers in the vicinity without power. That number will fluctuate as the crews cut current to replace the wires.
Eastbound drivers on Cedar Bridge are being diverted to Aurora Avenue. Westbounders are moving to Mantoloking Road.
