Brick Township teen accused of pulling knife on girl

A 14-year-old Brick Township boy who allegedly brandished a knife before a 15-year-old girl in Herbertsville Park Sunday faces assault, weapons and related charges, according to township police.

The confrontation, reported at about 2:21 PM on February 21, stemmed from an ongoing, escalating conflict between two groups that began earlier in the day, police said. The teen from Saw Mill Road allegedly whipped out a folding knife.

The teen was released to his parents on juvenile complaints of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats.

Police said that no one was hurt, but they seek additional information as they continue the investigation.
