Bob Levy begins his semi-retirement

The famous saying “old soldiers never die they just fade away” is not really perfect for today but it’s not all that far off when it comes to Bob Levy. While he is not retiring (something he’ll no doubt repeat about 20 times a week) he is fading away or slowing down quite a bit.

An Early Christmas for Todd Frazier

thank you to all of those who reached out to me with such a favorable reaction to yesterdays “Hometown View” in which I said we not only need a little Christmas right this very minute but we should not be afraid to say “Merry Christmas.” As Facebook friend Tom Slater said in quoting Kris Kringle from Miracle on 34th Street,”Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind.”

We Need a Little Christmas

Words of Wisdom at the Christmas Classic Tipoff Brunch

You’re going to hear a lot this week about the WOBM Christmas Classic for two simple reasons. One being it’s an event run in part by this radio station and secondly because it’s my baby. Actually there is more to it than that but you get the picture.

Nice weather or not, the Christmas Classic is coming

When you have nothing to talk about you talk about the weather. Well there’s plenty to talk about but we’re still talking about the weather because it seemed like everyone was outside this weekend. The boardwalks looked more like May than December and we spent Saturday in New Hope and Lambertville along with a visit to Peddler’s Village as we straddled the border between New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The Weather Outside Is Not So Frightful

We are two weeks away from Christmas and the one thing most of us agree on is that it just doesn’t feel like Christmas. The weather is more suited for shorts than scarves and most days all you need is a light jacket to walk around.

The Shore’s Best Coaches are Honored

While most of the attention at Monday’s annual meeting of the NJSIAA was focused on controversial proposals that were voted on there were other items on the agenda at the Pines Manor in Edison. One of the highlights of the luncheon was the honoring of this year’s sports awards recipients from across the state with 7 coaches from the shore saluted.
