The Giants Party Comes Home [VIDEO]

The Giants have received a rousing reception on their home field in New Jersey.

Tens of thousands of Giants fans roared as the team walked onto the field at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, making it feel like a regular Sunday game for Big Blue.

During the 30-minute ceremony, team officials said they were “proud” to call New Jersey their home.

Several players, including quarterback Eli Manning and defensive lineman Justin Tuck, addressed the fans, with Tuck proclaiming that the stadium the Giants share with the New York Jets is “our house.”

Jets fan Gov. Chris Christie attended the ceremony but did not speak.

The event ended with running back Brandon Jacobs circling the filed with the Super Bowl trophy, allowing fans to touch it.

Bloomberg kicked off a ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday after a ticker-tape parade honoring the team rolled up Broadway.

Bloomberg asked: “Are you feeling `deja blue’ all over again?” referring to the team’s 2008 win. The crowd decked in blue-and-white Giants gear cheered.

The Giants are being given symbolic keys to the city. The team was introduced with thundering applause from the lucky 250 fans who got tickets to the event on the plaza and the thousands standing outside on the streets listening in.
