Strong winds have contributed to scattered power outages across the state.

More than 2,100 JCP&L customers were without power, mostly in Washington Township in Morris County, as of 6 a.m. according to the utility's outage map. Earlier outages in Middlesex County for PSE&G customers had been restored.

Winds gusted to to 50 mph overnight across the state, with 58 MPH gusts reported at Newark Airport and High Point, according to meteorologist Dan Zarrow. Zarrow expects the winds to subside later on Tuesday to about 15 to 25 mph, with regular gusts to 40 mph.

A Wind Advisory continues until 6 p.m. for the northeast corner of New Jersey: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union counties.

Newark Liberty Airport was not reporting any delays because of the wind. A 35 mph speed restriction is in place on the George Washington Bridge along with a ban on empty trailers, according to New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams.

NJ Transit was not reporting any weather related delays.
