A shooting that left a Toms River 35-year-old with an arm wound in Lakewood today is the focus of a probe, as police try to find the gun-wielding attacker.

Scant details from Lakewood PD reveal that officers were summoned to the vicinity of Martin Luther King Drive and Ashley Avenue at about 3:30 PM, to look into reports of shots fired.

Officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim. Additional investigators found him at Monmouth Medical Center South.

Police describe the wound as non-life threatening.

The shooting occurred only one day after a Toms River shooting left a 19-year-old with a shoulder wound. The alleged gunman, Stephon Wilmot of Toms River, has yet to be apprehended.

No description of the suspect was released at publication time, nor were any details regarding circumstances that led to the incident.
