The Ocean County Baseball Tournament gets underway Saturday with all 17 teams in action and a matchup between #9 Pinelands and 8th seeded Barnegat will no doubt receive much attention.  That’s because highly-regarded pitching prospect Jason Groome returns to the mound for the Bengals. He’s been ineligible since April 14th.

Donovan Catholic High School’s Alyssa Wilson not only won the shot put at the Penn Relays Thursday but captured the prestigious title by setting a meet record of 51 feet, 6.5 inches.  The Griffins junior is being recruited by just about every women’s college track program in the country and is re-writing record books along the way.
