Ocean Gate Boil Water Alert in effect Until Further Notice

A boil water alert is in effect in Ocean Gate until further notice due to a situation at the water plant early this morning, according to Mayor Paul Kennedy.

Kennedy said in an email to Townsquare Media, there is no need to panic and that water pressure is returning.

Kennedy added New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection guidelines require an inspection and testing.

Lab workers will be in Ocean Gate shortly. Until the testing is completed, residents are being asked to continue boiling their water, according to Kennedy.
