Two are dead after a shooting outside of an OVO Festival after-party at a Toronto nightclub that was hosted by Drake early this morning (August 4), and three more people have sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police say one victim died at the shooting—which erupted around 3:30 AM at Muzik—and another died at the hospital. The victims were in their 20s and 30s, Billboard has reported, and Toronto Police Superintendent Frank Bergen told the site the event was "well-run" before the killings, and that there were police officers on duty "in and around the area."

Just a year ago, a man was shot outside of Muzik after the very same festival, according to The Guardian

The shooting broke out just hours after comedian Amy Schumer pledged to canvass for stricter gun control laws in the United States at a New York City press conference. Two people were killed during a screening of her movie, Trainwreckin Louisiana in July.

"We’re here today to say enough is enough, to mass shootings in our schools, our college campuses, our military bases and even in our movie theaters," she said, and added that she and her cousin, Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, aim to restrict the purchase of firearms for those who have violent pasts or suffer from mental illness. "This may be my first public comments on the issue of gun violence but I can promise you they will not be my last."
