If you suffer from Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia you may not want to watch this. Today kicks off the 88th Scripps National Spelling Bee where 285 children will be competing to see who is the best speller. They come from all 50 states, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Canada, China, Ghana, Jamaica, Japan and South Korea. Speller #28 is the youngest at just 9 years old and then we have a local from Neptune in Monmouth County #149, 13 year old Frank Grabowski. GO FRANK!

Three of the spellers have siblings that have won The Bee, 117 of the spellers speak more than one language and 51% are girls 49% boys. I am not trying to "Dragoon" you into anything but hopefully you will be tuning in for the finals Thursday night at 8pm EST on ESPN.
