Sheis described as a white female,5'6", 130 pounds, with a medium complexion, hazel eyes and long dark brown hair that reaches past her shoulders.

Stern's 1994, silver, four-door Olds 88 was found, by itself, on the crest of the Route 35 bridge in Belmar late Friday night, not long after she was last seen at home.

Investigators said the car was functional and the keys were inside. Neptune police towed it and advsed Neptune City police to conduct a welfare check at the home of the family member who is the registered owner.

Officers found the door unlocked and no one inside, and later learned that no one in Stern's family knew where she had gone.

Neptune police broadened the search to include Belmar PD at about 3:40 AM Saturday, since the car was technically in Belmar's jurisdiction.

An extensive search of the Shark River, over several days, by Belmar's Water Rescue Team, the U.S. Coast Guard, Monmouth County Sheriff's Dive Team, New Jersey State Police, and the Area Network of Shore Water Emergency Responders (ANSWER) yielded no trace.
