Car Accident Closes Route 9 in Lakewood Early This Morning.

Lakewood Police closed Route 9 after a car flipped over on Chestnut Street and struck a utility pole early this morning, splitting it in two.

The accident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday near where Route 9 intersects with Chestnut Street and County Roads 626 and 628.

The driver of the car is reported to have suffered minor injuries in the crash according to the LakewoodScoop.com.  Utility crews have been working at the scene to repair damage this morning.
