Members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck will spend this week conducting explosive demolition training, the Navy said Monday. Public Affairs Officer Bill Addison said in a statement that this type of training takes place periodically.

"The training may cause ground shaking and considerable noise coming from the installation," NWS officials said in a statement Monday.

Officials said residents who live in the area shouldn't be alarmed if they hear noise from the detonations, which are mostly planned for the afternoon hours between Monday and Friday of this week. Depending on the weather conditions, some of the detonations may also take place in the morning, Navy officials said.

According to a press statement, overcast weather conditions could make the noise from the explosives training travel farther.
